Sensei Mokhtar Chaoui
5th Dan Instructor and World Tournament Referee

Sensei Mokhtar Chaoui, 6th Dan, began his training in Shukokai Karate under Shihan Kimura in 1979 in Hackensack. New Jersey. Sensei Mo, as he is known by all, is originally from Tangiers, Morocco and spent his youth travelling throughout the world as a tumbler in the Wazzan Troupe. Through this experience Sensei Mo learned 6 different languages which has helped him to be a Shukokai World Ambassador. Sensei Mo is known to stop by the different Shukokai dojo's in New Jersey and New York with his gi to take a class and share his knowledge of kata.

Sensei Mo competed in the very first Shukokai World Championships in 1981 and continued competing in both kata and kumite around the world until 2002. In every competition his technique and great sportsmanship stood out. He always had a big smile on his face throughout his kumite matches and wished his opponent the best after the match. In 2004, Sensei Mo helped Shukokai grow even more by becoming a World level Referee.

Over the past years, Sensei Mo has assisted Sensei Mac Albus in Pearl River to develop the future of Shukokai. Many of the young champions today have trained under Sensei Mo's detailed understanding of kata and kumite and taken these skills to World Championship levels.
